simple way to change your life

Im following this project since the early beta, all i can say is that i cant even imagine going back to my former way of working, if you use any king of preprocessor js or css, this is an app you cant miss . Andrey did a wonderfull job, and improve it really often, implementing new stuff and following new technology that get out. keep up the good work Andrey, and long live to Live Reload :)

Awesome App!

This is a real useful app…must have for all web devs out there!

The best and only app for live previewing in a real browser.

Ive been using this since it was an early beta. The developers have brought it into full fruition with every feature you could ever want. Not only are they responsive to feedback, but they are web developers themselves and understand the needs of their users. I use this tool in a production environment with highly specialized build scripts, server setups and in combination with LESS css. It has never let me down once. Unlike all the other integrated environments that only work with PHP or the pseudo live preview apps that are based on just webkit. LiveReload works with Safari, Chrome, Firefox (IE support may likely be coming soon) and it speeds up your workflow like no other tool. Highly recommended. Aside: When this was still a beta, I wrote an email to the devs telling them Id pay up to $50 for this app. They stayed true to their word that it would cost $10. Thank you guys so much!

changes the way I work

This little guy does its thing. Reloads your browser window when you modify files. yep. seriously, with a multi-monitor setup, live reload is pretty much the best thing ever. not quite as responsive as editing css in firebug but so much more permanent!

The single most time-saving web development program I own.

If you are a web developer, you need this program. At $10, its a steal! With the amount of time that it saves you, it will pay itself off in less than a day of work.

Essential tool!

Powerful and simple to use. This is the only CSS compiler app that will play nicely with live-updating dev environments such as Espresso. Absolutely essential for web development!

Great

Now that Ive used this, I dont think I could work without it. Thanks for the great app!

Well played.. Well played.

The app not only compiled my css through less on the fly but I have no need or any other utility to test my responsive designs on devices. All in one great solution. The time its saved in the first hour of using it paid for its self.

More than just browser reloads

This is a simple, easy to use tool that has made my development process more efficient. Integration with compilers, like SASS, make this tool much more powerful than the description gives. Recommend for any developer, and especially those that find themselves manually re-compiling code often.

Essential tool for me

Ive been using LiveReload since it was in pre-release last year. Its come a long way. No crashing, lots of features added, seamless browser integration, and much more. Im using the nightly builds so I can have support for Prefix-free which works really well. If youre a web developer, I highly recommend this. It will change how you develope and increase your productivity.

Ignores output path

2.3.8 appears to ignore my output path settings & generates its own `./stylesheets/$file.css` regardless of what I have set. Its annoying; it only has 2 jobs: compile & save to the right path.

a bit flaky but works

Editing my review as after initially failing to connect with either Firefox or Chrome after installing the correct extensions to both, restarting everything multiple times, and having the app crashing one time, I had written a negative review. After the crash though the app began to work properly and finally recognized Chrome and began updating it. Strange behavior. So at the moment it is delivering functionality as advertised.

Very useful

Works as advertised. I saved html file in Sublime Text and Chrome refreshed the page instantly (showed by local XAMPP). Now I need to hook up external monitor to my Mac to see the change right away, Ctrl+S and a glimpse on the second screen - boom, thats what I just saved.

App is great but support died, I guess

The app is great but I cannot get to the support for weeks. Neither through mail, nor through the official support system. This caused me to stop using LiveReoad, unfortunately, since it cannot see my RVM Rubies after system upgrade. I cannot fix it myself and support does not respond to my requests.

Return me money back!!!

Application is not intuitial. This application doesn`t have visible icon in dock panel. It doesn`t compile my application and google extension for this is not properly work. I advise to LiveReload developers to work hardly on their application!

SASS is outdated

Current SASS version is 3.2.1 and new functionality, like Media Queries nesting just doesnt work in LR.

No live reload for JavaScript

Pros: – Open source (it’s hard to overestimate the value of this) – Live reload of CSS and images Cons: – No live reload for JavaScript (why?) – Graphics is non–Retina (blurry rounded borders, the folder icon, question mark icon), the settings icon is misaligned – overall feel of the app is sloppy.

App is Abandoned

The developer hasn’t bothered to sign the firefox plugin in YEARS. The version of the plugin that the app’s website links to is old and unsigned. Firefox blocks it completely. There’s a newer version of the plugin on the Firefox addon page which would be great news if it wasn’t completely broken. It’s Chrome plugin works fin but, honestly, LiveStyle is a vastly superior app for Chrome and is completely FREE.

Best when working with two monitors, a web developer’s dream!

When at home I connect a second monitor to my Macbook Pro, I do all of my coding on the laptop and have the website I’m working on displayed in full size on the 2nd monitor. With LiveReload the website refreshes each time I save the file, and it improves my workflow immensely! I set my localhost folder as the folder for LiveReload to monitor, each time I save HTML, PHP, or JavaScript, the browser refreshes and I can instantly see any changes in layout. The best part is that any changes made to CSS take effect immediately without a refresh. The only downside is that trying to go back to a single monitor (or just laptop) with or without LiveReload is almost unthinkable. I’ve been completely spoiled.

Nice, but...

I was expecting this to act more like Expresso or CSSEdit live preview, where any changes to the file are automatically refreshed in the browser. Fine tuning a layout is much simpler in Expresso/CSSEdit.
